This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for December 12, 2007:
I believe love is an ACTION not a mere feeling. Anyone can become infatuatd with an object, animal, or person. Love is stronger and harder than that. It is always doing what is best for the other person. It's so hard because we all love ourselves most. Love is being willing to work through things, forgive no matter what, and sacrifice anything.
John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends
1 John 3:16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us.
1 John 4:9-10 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his son as an atoning sarifice for our sins.
I can't imagine a personw ho does not have this amazing, overflowing, totally fulfilling love.
And I'm glad I know what true love is that I might pass it on to those around me in my actions and words.
